Happy B’Day Appu Cheta

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Dear Appu Cheta,
Acha, Amma, Chinnu & I wish you a very happy B’Day. I wish you could come here to America one day and see how it is like. And I hope we wont fight when you come. Make the best wish you can and I hope it will come true. I hope you are having a wonderful time there with Nimmi. I really enjoyed reading your blog, but did not see anything new. Hope you will write often. Here is a poem I wrote for your Birthday. It is about the stars.

Stars, When I see you up there, it is quite a sight.
Stars, When I see you up there on this beautiful night.
Stars, Don’t you fall to the ground
Stars, That will make quite a sound.
Stars, When I see you up there, you are always there for me.
Stars, When I see you up there, you always protect me.

Love, Nitu.

My trip to Hawaii

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

Hawaii is a beautiful island. I flew to Hawaii with my family and friends. It was a long flight. We then rented a car and drove to a lovely house. It was a big house made of stones and wood. The backyard opens to a beautiful beach. I spent the day playing in the beach with my sister Chinnu and my friends Anjali and Achu. It was a fun and great day.

The next day, my dad went for para sailing with his friends Radha mama and Biju mama. My mom, Lekshmy Aunty, Reena Aunty and we the kids just hung around went shopping and walking. I bought a flower earing and a necklace from there. We also got gifts for all of our friends back in Fremont.
Then we went snorkling. We went in a boat to a reef. All of us put floats and got into the water. Then we lied on our tummies and looked under the water. We saw pretty fishes in Molokini and turtles in turtle town.

The next day, we went to see a Volcano called Haleakala. We climbed onto a volcano mountain. I could see lots of mountain ranges and a river. I saw little loose rocks made of lava. I picked some and threw them down the cliff. One of them almost hit a car down below. We then drove back to a restaurant and then back to our house.

Then we went to a Luau party and saw lots of girls and boys hula dancing. I very much liked those dances, especially one by a pretty girl in a gorgeous dress.
We went on a long drive to a town called Hana. First we saw big oceans on the wayside. Then we saw lot of trees and we were inside a forest. But we did not see any wild animals like tigers or lions. We did see monkeys and deer. But it was a long trip and we put some favorite songs on and clapped along.

The last day, we were playing in the beach. Suddenly a sea urchin appeared and bit Anjali. She was crying real bad and had to go to a doctor to take the spikes off her feet. The doctor put a dressing on her.

Then we all had a good sleep, and got on a plane back home. It was a great trip and we all had so much fun. I really liked Hawaii and would like to go back to Hawaii another time. More than Hawaii, I liked being together with my friends and family for one whole week.
